The Škofja Loka Museum has prepared a selection of works by Ive Šubic (1922–1989) that are part of its museum collections to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the most prominent twentieth-century artists from the Škofja Loka area.
Join us for a guided tour of the exhibition From Fleece to Wool presenting an overview of the history of sheep farming in the Škofja Loka area. It has always been closely connected with weaving and spinning as sheep’s wool is the most suitable animal fibre for thread making.
You are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition Ive Šubic – Illustrator and Cultural Figure. The first retrospective of Ive Šubic’c literary illustrations marks the 100th anniversary of his birth. On this occasion, the artist is for the first time also presented as a cultural figure with a focus on his contribution to the community.
Preserving the Past for the Future.
