European Archaeology Days

The Škofja Loka Museum is joining the celebration of European Archaeological Days, taking place across Europe from 19 to 21 June 2020.

Since May 2019, the Round Tower of the Škofja Loka Museum has been hposting the Lubnik - the Mountain of Giants exhibition, which presents the settlement of the Lubnik mountain in archeological periods and is part of a joint project of museums in Gorenjska Incredible mountains.

Do you know the legend about the origin of our favorite hill? Have you seen the exhibition in the Round Tower, whose common thread is, in addition to more serious archaeological facts, the comic about the legend of the giant brothers, who are the "main culprits" for the creation of Lubnik?

On Friday, June 19, at 5 pm, we invite you to the castle courtyard to listen to the short story about the giant brothers, told by the storyteller Karla B. Rihtaršič.

You will also be able to (once again) visit the exhibition in the Round Tower and browse thorugh the museum souvenirs with giant brothers, such as cotton bags, hoodies and umbrellas, we will present them at the castle stand.
