The urban beat of Škofja Loka has been vibrant in the past. The rhythm was dictated by trade links, regular weekly fairs, celebrations and a rich guild life. In the centuries of development, various societies have joined the list, bringing together in their ranks people with similar cultural or sporting interests. Societies were increasingly becoming the connective tissue of life in and around the city, which attracted not only locals but also residents of the surrounding areas. Especially in the second half of the 19th century, in Škofja Loka, the societies inspired, taught, educated, and thus maintained the connection of the townspeople with one another. In their organized form, in addition to socializing, their goal was to educate and educate members and non-members.

The exhibition presents and highlights the societies, schools and clubs that are celebrating their anniversary this year. The Škofja Loka School Center celebrates its 130th anniversary of vocational education, 90 years of skiing and playing football in Škofja Loka, and 70 years ago the Škofja Loka Music School, the Škofja Loka Philatelic Society and the Škofja Loka Pensioners' Association were founded. Delivering cultural and entertaining content, specialized knowledge or sports skills - this distinguishes the societies and schools represented at the exhibition. The societies and schools connect, engage and educate young people and the elderly with their work, reflecting the cultural development of our city.

At the exhibition, these societies and schools are presented with a brief description of several decades of development, a wide range of activities and events. Through their work and cooperation with the immediate and wider surroundings, they enrich the life of the Diocese of Loka. From its beginnings, in the development, local and international integration and with many successes in the decades of its activity, they became a constant and spiritus movens of the cultural and sports pulse of Škofja Loka.

The curator of the exhibition is Biljana Ristic.
