Exploring the Loka Museum with the Koki parrot

We invite families to explore the museum with our curious and chatty parrot Koki. He loves cookies and having his head scratched, but he even prefers to share his knowledge and castle stories with curious young researchers. That is why he has prepared a booklet with various tasks and a backpack full of interesting objects for you, with which you will transform into real museum detectives.

A Koki backpack and workbook are waiting for you at the museum reception, the price of use is € 3.90. You return the backpack to the reception after use and take the workbook home with you. During the campaign, we offer a 30% discount on Koki's workbook!

Interactive game I spy with my little eye...

You can also get to know our museum collections in a slightly different way, through small details that will lead you to museum objects and their stories! Two of our curators each chose five interesting items or. works of art from their collections and revealed one of their recognizable details, on the basis of which you need to find them. When your find the object or work of art, you can pull out an explanation of the detail and a presentation of the object/worl of art from a handy envelope.

All families who will visit the museum during the campaign and explore it with the Koki backpack or the game I spy with my little eye... will be given a board game with which you will be able to get to know the cultural heritage of Loka at home!

The Heritage Through Play campaign aims to promote pedagogical work in museums and its importance in bringing cultural heritage and museum work closer to the public, spreading the recognition of cultural and educational approaches and programs in museums and galleries, promoting intergenerational convergence, discovering new knowledge through play, active experience and creativity . The campaign has been running since 2010 on the initiative and in the organization of the Section for Education and Communication at the Community of Museums of Slovenia.
