Stoveside Stories: Cunning, Clever, Undefeated

A group of storytellers will take you into the world of folk tales, making you tremble with fear together with the tales’ heroes and heroines, defeat villains and believe that good will always win. You will get to hear stories about the magical power of snake gifts, about godmother Death, about a shepherd who invented a cure that gives one the strength to jump like a calf and makes one’s skin forever firm, about a blacksmith who did not want to go to the otherworld, about a woman who made her way up the mountain to get a wolf's moustache that would help her find a husband and about a man who wanted to switch roles with his wife for a day.

The storytelling performance was created as part of the project The Bonds of Tales (‘Vezi pripovedk’), which was carried out in Žiri in the spring of 2025 under the mentorship of the Grable Cultural Society and with the support of the Tri Institute.
