What lies beneath the surface? And why have stories of water-dwelling creatures been passed down through the centuries?

Dangerous Waters is an original storytelling performance by Anže Slana and Lara Krafogel, drawing on Slovenian folklore and exploring the mysterious figure of the water spirit. Rather than focusing on terrifying monsters, the performance highlights the power of folk tales, which once helped people make sense of the world, warned them of dangers, and taught them to respect nature.

The two storytellers take the audience on a journey through a series of folk tales connected to rivers, lakes, and mysterious waters. Through the power of words, voice, rhythm, and sound, a world unfolds before the audience in which water becomes a boundary between the known and the unknown, between reality and imagination.
