Visit to the France Mihelič Gallery

In September, we are reviving the legacy of the great Slovenian painter and printmaker France Mihelič, which is why the France Mihelič Gallery in the former granary (Kašča) on Spodnji trg in Škofja Loka will be open from Saturday to Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.

In the gallery, we keep the works that the artist left to Škofji Loka, in memory of his birthplace Virmaše and the early childhood years he spent here. Mihelič's rich painting oeuvre is famous for its fantastic content, he is especially known for the motif of the carnival figure "kurent", but he was also interested in mythology.

In Kašča, you can also see A Collection in the making, a collection of artworks by members of the Škofja Loka Artists’ Association.
