At the Biennial BIEN 2023, the students of the Department of Art Pedagogy of UL PEF are collaborating with the Carbonization project. It will be rounded off with a conversation about the different aspects of Mihelič's works through students' artworks, geotextiles as a carrier of the painting image, materials in art and the challenges of conserving and restoring paintings.
Past events
We will start the event with a tour of a textile exhibition designed by migrants and women who have lived here for a long time. A plant printing workshop will follow, where each participant will search for their own expression, their own message.
At the lecture, we will get to know Ivan Tavčar as a politician and mayor of the city of Ljubljana during the turbulent years of the First World War. The writer, lawyer and politician, born in Poljane near Škofja Loka, rose to the top of the leadership of the capital of Carniola with his ability, commitment and work.

Zgodboprejke (»Storyweavers«)
Opening of the exhibition of the Breja preja knitting community
The wall installation Zgodboprejke ("Storyweavers") was created at a workshop of the Breja preja knitting community. During the spring months, a group of women who had moved to Škofja Loka from various parts of the world got to know different textile techniques and learned from each other.

A Guided Tour of the Škofja Loka Museum and Coffee at the Škofja Loka Castle Cafe
Join us for a Castle Matinee! Every last Saturday of the month, you can take a guided tour of our permanent collections and get to know the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Škofja Loka area, and afterwards have a cup of coffee (with a coupon) at the Škofja Loka Castle Cafe while enjoying an excellent view of the medieval town.
At the Ivan Grohar Gallery visual artist Erik Mavrič is exhibiting eight works of art drawn between 2021 and 2023, half of which he has already shown at the Long Black Summer exhibition in the lapidarium of the Božidar Jakac Art Museum in Kostanjevica na Krki. The remaining four are presented to the public for the first time in Škofja Loka.
