The curator of the Škofja Loka Museum Jože Štukl will present selected pieces of weapons: a submachine gun, which was considered a symbolic weapon of Slovenian independence, the smallest submachine gun in the world and one of the most recognizable automatic rifles, 100 million of which were produced.

Through the lecture, with the help of available historical sources, we will shed light on the beginnings of brewing in the territory of the former Škofja Loka Seigniory. We will try to find out what was the cause of the flourishing of brewing in the villages of Sorško polje in the 12th century and why it almost completely died out by the end of the 14th century.

Join us for a guided tour of the exhibition Around the Crngrob Church – a Treasure Trove of Frescoes which presents twelve frescoes from different periods, between the late 13th and the mid-19th centuries.

In September, we are reviving the legacy of the great Slovenian painter and printmaker France Mihelič, which is why the France Mihelič Gallery in the former granary (Kašča) will be open from Saturday to Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
