The questions that will arise in the selection of the narratives transcend generational and general temporal boundaries and seem eternal: with what justification does a mother kill her child? What are the ways in which women save their souls and bodies? How many times does a woman's beauty and wisdom have to hide under her skin because it would be too dangerous for her to live otherwise? Where in our collective unconscious does the cowherd still live and where does the incestuous king rule?

Spend the morning at the Škofja Loka Castle! Every last Saturday of the month, you can take a guided tour of our permanent collections and get to know the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Škofja Loka area, and afterwards have a cup of coffee (using a coupon) at the Škofja Loka Castle Cafe while enjoying an excellent view of the medieval town.

You are kindly invited to the Crngrob Matinee starting with a guided tour of the Church of the Annunciation in Crngrob, followed by a concert, a cup of tea and a Renaissance dance in front of the Holy Sunday frescoe.

Nataša Šušteršič Plotajs, graphic designer and member of the Škofja Loka Artist Association, will present a selection of her most important design projects (completed or those that are still ongoing) in which the author, also the recipient of the Grohar scholarship for 2020, participated.

The curator Biljana Ristić will take us through the collection, which presents the famed Slovenian writer, politician and a prominent figure in the world of economy Ivan Tavčar from the village of Poljane nad Škofjo Loko, and his wife Franja Tavčar, a political activist and humanitarian.

With its wealth of natural and cultural heritage, the Poljane Valley and the surrounding hills have always been a source of inspiration for artists and their works of art. The scenes and subjects from the land at the foot of Blegoš that are part of the exhibition on view at the Visoko Mansion were captured by the architect Tone Mlakar and show many long-lost and long-forgotten places, metaphorically illustrating bygone times.

The storytelling collective Tu in tam will share stiries for the whole emotional range. Dark, happy, tearful... bizarre. We will discover a strange case or who Giske is. What was the fate of the giantess and her lover. In which hazel does the devil live? How a woman got her way. Do you know who Venus is in the sky? Why wasn't the troll at the baptism?

Children, you are warmly invited to join our storyteller Karla B. Rihtaršič on a walk through the world of Ive's illustrations, presented at the exhibition Ive Šubic – illustrator and cultural figure. You will hear stories from the artist's life, and on top of that, some from the books that Ive illustrated.

The Croatian artist Goran Tomčić, whose exhibition titled Pompom Nets - Škofja Loka, is currenly on view at the Ivan Grohar Gallery, will give a lecture on the history of participatory work in art history and today.
